  • Academic Experience
    As a visiting faculty, she teaches Financial Reporting & Analysis, Managerial Accounting and Financial Statement Analysis in the post graduate programs. Her teaching career spans 23 years and includes teaching in IIM Bangalore (as Adjunct Faculty) and IBS, Bangalore (as Full time faculty, Dean (Academics) and Director, Bangalore campus). Her academic administration achievements in previous workplaces include drafting and implementing standards for uniformity and excellence in academic delivery, initiating bi-annual academic delivery workshops for review and improvement in pedagogy and evaluation, signing an MoU with ICICI Bank for offering their E-Learning modules for students interested in banking career, organizing national level Faculty Development Program for four consecutive years and organizing International Conference in Finance & Economics for ten consecutive years.

  • Times Guaranty Financials Ltd (Times of India Group) 1994-96: As Asst. Vice President-South, was responsible for business development and management of operations of the NBFC in Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad. Apart from these primary roles, she also headed task forces on Credit Appraisal, Risk Management and Discretion and developed professional standards in these areas in close association with KPMG.
  • Industrial Development Bank of India- 1984-1994: As Officer/Dy.General Manager of this development financial institution (prior to its reverse merger with IDBI Bank), independently handled project appraisals for medium and large industrial projects in the State of Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. One of her achievements is preparing a Handbook on Refinancing which was widely referred to by State Finance Corporations and State Industrial Development Corporations.

  • Designed, coordinated and delivered numerous training programs in Brokerage Operations and Global Financial Markets for companies like Iflex Solutions (now part of Oracle), HP and Goldman Sachs, Finance for Non-Finance programs for Infosys, TCS, Wipro, and SAP. Handled sessions in Project Finance, Financial Statement Analysis and ALM in training programs for bankers of Canara Bank,Union Bank of India and SBI. Designed, developed and delivered a module on Finance for Decision-making for second line leaders in the Advanced Leadership Training program of Vestian Global Workplace Services, Bangalore. Handled sessions in finance area in MDPs for IOCL, Power Grid Corporation and other PSUs. Designed and delivered a workshop on Design Thinking for over 150 faculty members of Don Bosco Assam University.
  • Consultancy
  • World Bank- Short Term Consultant July 2015 to November 2015: Reviewed the experiences of ten AgriFin projects (essentially, capacity building grants to financial institutions for expansion of lending to agricultural sector) implemented in Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa, provided quality inputs and insightful analysis of the lessons learned and undertook an evaluation of the AgriFin Program strategy and implementation. The results were published in March 2016 as a report titled ‘Agriculture Finance Support Facility- Lessons Learned’ and resides in their knowledge repository.
  • IIT Gandhinagar January 2013- July 2015: As External Consultant, advised IIT Gandhinagar on inviting proposals, selecting vendors and providing support in design, development and implementation of an integrated Institution Management System (IMS) to manage its academic, administration, human resource, finance, classroom & learning management, external connect and related activities.
  • Secon P Ltd. Bangalore 2005 to 2017: NHAI approved financial expert for National Highway projects-Analysis of economic and financial feasibility and preparation of feasibility reports, detailed project reports for various national and state highway projects executed on public private partnerships. She was engaged as a financial consultant by Secon for projects in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Rajasthan.
  • BankConsult October 2009-June 2010: Assisted Mr. K.R Ramamoorthy, Head of BankConsult who was SME Banking & Guarantee consultant of DAI*, on a Stock Taking Analysis & Bankers’ Perception Study of the Credit Guarantee Scheme for Micro and Small Enterprises of India which involved providing recommendations for improvement of the guarantee scheme. (*DAI provides support for policy advocacy initiatives of GIZ, Germany to improve provision of financial services to SMEs).
  • Infosys Technologies Ltd. July 2004-September 2004: Short term Consultant-The project involved design & development of courseware, presentation material with speaker notes, question bank, delivery of a training program and offering post-training follow-up for trainers of Infosys for their use in future training programs to be conducted by them.
  • USAID (through PwC) August 1997-May 1998: Study on Corporate Disclosure Standards- involved survey-based primary research with detailed questionnaires administered to stock exchange officials, brokers, investment bankers and retail investors and submission of research report to USAID.
