Dr. Nikhil Nandkishor Dhakate is an Assistant Professor in the area of Operations & Quantitative Techniques at the Indian Institute of Management Shillong. He holds a PhD in Management from the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, with a major in Supply Chain Management and a minor in Operations Management. His doctoral research focused on organ donation and transplantation processes in India.

Dr. Dhakate’s research interests lie at the intersection of operations management, healthcare systems, and quantitative decision-making. His areas of research include healthcare operations, organ donation and transplantation, healthcare logistics, supply chain management, service quality, and process improvement.

His teaching interests include Statistics for Decision Making, Operations Management, Operations Research, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Lean and Six Sigma, Total Quality Management, and Logistics Management.

Before joining the Indian Institute of Management Shillong, Dr. Dhakate served as an Assistant Professor at the Indian Institute of Management Bodh Gaya and the University

of Petroleum and Energy Studies, Dehradun. He also has industry experience in aerospace manufacturing and engineering, with exposure to process improvement, manufacturing operations, and quality management.

His academic and professional experience enables him to integrate quantitative methods and operations management concepts with practical challenges in industrial and service settings.
