IIM Shillong is currently conducting TEQIP III a three-day Professional Development Training program for senior academic cum administrative executives. The Program is sponsored by National Project Implementation Unit (NPIU) of MHRD Govt. of India. The Program commencing on 19th June, 2019 will conclude on 21st June, 2019.
Anti-Terrorism Day, on 21st of May 2019, is being organized to commemorate the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Shri Rajiv Gandhi. Anti-terrorism pledge is being taken at IIM Shillong campus to spread the message of global peace and non-violence.
The Pledge : "We the people of India, having abiding faith in our country's tradition of non-violence and tolerance, hereby solemnly affirm to oppose with our strengths, all forms of terrorism and violence. We pledge to uphold and promote peace, social harmony and understand among all fellow human beings and fight the forces of disruption threatening human lives and values"
A MDP on “Change Management” was organized by IIM Shillong in the Campus for Officers of POWERGRID from 06th to 08th May 2019. Altogether 32 participants attended the training program. The program was coordinated by Prof. Rohit Dwivedi and Prof. Sanjeeb Kakoty.
The MDP was inaugurated in the presence of Prof. D .P. Goyal, Director IIM Shillong, Shri B. Anantha Sarma -Executive Director NERTS Shillong, Ms Geetanjali Hijam HR POWERGRID along with Faculty and Officers from IIM Shillong.
The 3 days programme was facilitated by in house faculty where by the participants were immersed in an intensive change clinic setting with topics of discussion on Understanding the need for Change ,Mental Models and Organizational Change ,Change Leaders in Indian History, Indian Philosophy and Change , Attentive Learning for Creative Change Management etc . Other sessions were highly interactive with participants engaging in group exercise and activities bringing out a sense of cohesiveness to anticipate change, embrace it and motivation to be positive change agents themselves for the benefit of their team, departments and their organization.
The Tenth Annual Convocation of IIM Shillong successfully concluded on 6Th April 2019. This year 177 students graduated for the Post Graduate Programme of IIM Shillong. For the first time IIM Shillong, conferred MBA degrees to the Post Graduate students. 23 Post Graduate Executive Students are being conferred Post Graduate Diplomas for Executives. Industry leader Dr Vivek Lall Vice President, Aeronautics Strategy and Business Development at Lockheed Martin Corporation graced the occasion as Chief Guest and delivered the Convocation address. Hon’ble Chief Guest Dr Vivek Lall, while delivering the Convocation Address, mentioned that world expects Indians to be erudite, creative and innovative. He further mentioned that people will expect you to be ethical, responsive, humane and inclusive. The new generation is facing expectations for a change that make this earth more livable and mentioned that late Dr A P J Abdul Kalam known here in IIM Shillong as “Kalam Sir” while teaching used to ignite young minds to dream for an India that would not only occupy a prime place in the world of nations but also take care of the people living at the bottom of the pyramid. He mentioned that, IIM Shillong is different with reference to the development models and the policy related issues, while are key for the economic growth of a nation in particular and world in general, but also taught that the developments should be sustainable in the long run.
Chairman of the Board of Governors, Shri Shishir Kumar Bajoria, welcomed new Director Prof D P Goyal and also expressed his thanks to Prof Keya Sengupta for officiating as Director for about 10 months. Shri Bajoria while congratulating the students mentioned that foremost is our Nation and we have to imbibe things that make our Nation proud and should have same feelings during the time of national anthem being sung for the gold medal winner in Olympics. He expressed his congratulations and mentioned that all of you have been very fortunate not only to have graduated from a World renowned Institute, the IIM, but also under care and supervision of members of IIMS family.
On behalf of IIM Shillong, Director of the Institute, Prof D P Goyal extended a warm welcome to members of the Board of Governors of IIM, Shillong, dignitaries, parents of the students, members of press and media, faculty members, officers, staff and graduating students. He expressed his gratitude and congratulated faculty members, officers and staff for all efforts towards IIM Shillong’s growth and achievements. He also mentioned that students have made significant contribution in national and international competitions and brought laurels to the institute.
Shri Arjun V was awarded Chairman's Gold Medal for securing highest CGPA and Shri Parag Sharna was awarded the Institute Silver medal for the second highest CGPA. Director's Gold Medal for Best All-Rounder and Institute's medal for positive contribution to campus life was awarded to Shri Subhabrata Mukherjee. Shri Thota Varun Kumar was awarded Institute Medal for Positive Contribution to Campus life. Rathindra Nath Dutta Gold Medal was awarded to Shri Arjun V. The Prof Ashoke K Dutta Gold Medal for best All Rounder was awarded to Shri Subhabrata Mukherjee. Shri Yammanuru Dharma Teja Reddy won the MathFinance AG Gold Medal for securing the highest marks in quantitative finance courses.
For the PGPEx Program the Kumari Poulami Mitra was awarded the Chairman's Gold Medal for securing highest CGPA and Shri Ankur Nahar was awarded Gold Medal for best all-rounder for the class of 2018.

It may also be mentioned that IIM Shillong has fortified its position as a premier B-School with the successful completion of the placement season for the batch of 2017-19 earlier during the year. Its flagship Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) witnessed the completion of final placement for its largest batch size till date. With its consistent performance this season, the Institute recorded average CTC of 16.79 LPA witnessing a significant increase of 8.3% over the last year. The highest domestic CTC stood at 28 LPA. The recruitment drive saw participations from 62 recruiters.
