ConQuest, the Consulting & Strategy Club of IIM Shillong was founded in 2008 with a vision of delivering sustainable solutions to society by acting as a forum between the industry and students passionate about strategy and consulting. It strives to equip the students with the domain knowledge and skills by facilitating consulting assignments, expert talks, online newsletters, and competitions.
ConQuest conducts activities round the year attracting students from over 65 B-Schools pan India. The club has successfully completed live projects for The Red Pen, Sattva Rise, Barakaat Consulting, Shrofile and Priya Communications, through which the students imbibed great learning. The tri-annual event Battleground received tremendous response with over 400 participants and more than 4250 likes on Facebook. Consulting Club’s flagship event ‘Paramarsh’ received participation from about 300 participants. The club also helped the student community enrich their strategic and current affairs knowledge base through Week-o-Pedia, a weekly dose of latest happenings in the business world. ConQuest aims to grow bigger with more reach and initiatives, facilitating greater interaction between corporate stalwarts and students building a long term symbiotic relationship.

To equip participants with resources that will help them make informed career decisions in the domain of consulting and strategic management, by offering industry insights, competitions, live projects, and industry exposure that will enable them to apply classroom learnings in solving industry problems, confidently and competitively.
Paramarsh is the club's annual flagship event, which involves multiple rounds, testing the participants on domain knowledge, analysis ability, scenario simulation, and forming comprehensive solutions. The event is conducted across three rounds, including a quiz, a case study round, and a presentation, which is conducted over two weeks. The final round is conducted at the IIM Shillong campus in front of designated judges.
Battleground is a quarterly competition, which invites participants from various B - schools to put on their consulting hats. A concise two-slide solution to a strategy-based case challenge is to be brainstormed in 180 minutes. The most recent edition of Battleground held in October 2020 witnessed a participation of more than 918 participants from 450 teams.
Strategist is the official magazine of ConQuest released tri-annually and having a readership of more than 1500. It helps students enrich their knowledge and understand trends across diverse sectors by sharing the best of sector analysis, strategic insights and expert talks.
The club prepares a case discussion manual to aid potential participants in their selection and admission process. Knowledge transfer workshops by the club as well as in association with third parties like ForeVision, with which it keeps a long-term relationship. Live projects in the consulting domain from various sectors are floated to the students. These projects are symbiotic in nature, helping the students to learn and implement theories into real time solutions and benefitting industries which are provided with innovative and feasible solutions. The club conducts interviews with distinguished industry experts, who share their views on various issues, for instance, an interview of Mr Ambarish Dasgupta, Head Management Consulting, KPMG was featured in the club’s magazine. The club also conducts case studies, strategy quizzes and other competitions, for instance, Antra-Prerna in collaboration with i-Cube Club, as a part of its entrepreneurship summit Emerge.
