The Student Exchange Programme at IIM Shillong is a gateway to global learning and cross-cultural engagement, allowing students to experience education from an international perspective. As of 2024, IIM Shillong has Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) established with 24 prestigious institutions/universities across France, Vietnam, Taiwan, Australia, South Korea, Brazil, Spain, the USA, Germany, Thailand, Canada, Indonesia, Malaysia, the UK, Dubai, Scotland, Riverside, and Athens.
The program facilitates the exchange of students for a term, fostering global interactions and broadening their academic and cultural horizons. Through this program, students can immerse themselves in diverse educational environments, engage with unique academic offerings, and collaborate with renowned faculty members at the host institutions. This transformative experience enhances their academic and professional development and equips them with the adaptability and global outlook needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Students will be selected based on their CGPA ranking and the number of seats available at the host university.
- Selected students are required to pay an Acceptance Fee (Rs. 75,000) to block their seats.
- Selected students have to sign a no-objection certificate provided by the college.
The Eligibility criteria are applicable to both PGP/PGP WE. The entire batch of PGP Ex participates in the Student Exchange Program.
Salient Features –
- Participants must pay all personal expenses, including accommodation expenses and application fees, directly and are responsible for obtaining visas and completing immigration formalities.
- Mandatory for participants to have medical insurance acceptable to both host universities, covering the entire duration of the exchange.
- Student visa holders must maintain Overseas Student Health Cover for the entire visa duration. All insurance-related costs are the participant’s responsibility.
- An EoI form will be shared to gauge interest. Participants will be nominated based on CGPA (merit-based), and the merit list and waitlist will be communicated individually.
- The acceptance fee will be fully refunded if credits are successfully transferred.
- The acceptance fee will be partially or not refunded if a participant opts out before the program begins, with penalties for the cost incurred by the next participant.
- Participants must select and share courses they wish to enroll in, ensuring they meet equivalent Term V credit requirements.
- Deficit credits must be completed in Term VI in coordination with Chair-PGP. A maximum of 30 additional contact hours (1 credit) can be taken beyond the required credits.
